Dear my friends... I am not sure whether I may come up with this question in this mail-list. I am writing my cv with kile. I wan to make this appearance for my cv under below... " 1. Name : Prabu Subroto 2. Address : Jl.Kolong Langit/4 3. Sex : Male " I want to have the data with format the "." and ":" is in the stright line uptobuttom my cv and the other text may appear behind or front the "." or ":". I found the documentation in kile (Help menu) is far then enough. I am lacking of documentation to start working with kile (beginner). I found the "tabular", "tabular" and "multicoloum" but still don't understand make such format as I expect because the documentation has no example. I hope there is a volunteer to give me a solution. the behaviour of timestamp on postgres.

Dear my friends... I created some tables with field timestamp (datatype also timestamp). I mean, I want to have the data when each record inserted or modified in the tables. on MysQL, I just need to define the column (field) with datatype "timestamp" and that's all. each time new record inserted than the timestamp value will be inserted automaticall. also for the data modification, each time the data in the record modified than the value of timestamp column will be modified automatically. How is the behaviour of the timestamp on postgres? I have define the datatype of the column with "timestamp" but each time I inserted a new record into the table than the timestamp column (with datatype "timestamp") stays empty. Dear my friends... I am using Qt3.2, Postgres and SuSE 9.1 . I want to use "commit()" and "rollback()" mechanism for my database application. Hi Brad... I am so confused because the QLineEdit was defined by the Qt Designer. I create the QDataBrowser from Qt Designer and the QDataBrowser generate the QLineEdit by themselves. I try to define this line " QLineEditCompany = custdataBrowser->field("custid").QString(); " in the constructor ( init() ) but of course if I click the button of "next"/"last"/"previos"/"first" than the content of "company" field will not be displayed anymore. Please tell me your solution. Please.... memory Consumption

Dear all, I have installed Suse 9.0 in two pcs. 1. A Pentium III with 256 MB of RAM. 2. A AMD 3200 with 1024 MB of RAM. Both have the same problem. Using top can see that used memory increases by 4-20kb every 1-2 secs and free is reduced by that amount. Further buffer size increases. Eventually all physical and swap is used and if unlucky will Hung too! Has anybody came across the same problem and if so what is set so wrong? Why buffer size increases all time ? Thank You, Savvas

Finally, I create this with QDataBrowser. Actually it works...the four buttons work as I expected. but what weird is that the QLineEdit of Address can not display the value of the field "address". I define this field with bpchar(150). Does it has anything to do with the datatype? Which data type should I use? Please tell me where my mistake is. one view for 2 different tables

Dear my friends... I am developing a database application with postgres 7.2.x, qt on SuSE 9.1 . I am in a situation where I have to use QDataTable and I have to use QSqlCursor that support only 1 table manipulation ( QSqlCursor * cursor = QSqlCursor("viewpatrix", true, db); ). So, as a strategy I make a view. with this view I hope I can work with more than 1 table at a time. kv=# create view viewpatrix as select customer.custid, customerdescription.descr iption, customer.firstname, customer.lastname from customer, customerdescription where customer.custid=customerdescription.custid; but I have problems if I want to make data update and data insertion from the QDataTable because I don't know how the rule should be. kv=# create rule viewpatrixcustdesc as on update to viewpatrix do instead update customerdescription set description=new.description where custid=old.custid; CREATE RULE kv=# OK, it works if the user wants to update the data in table "customerdescription". should I simply create another rule like this: kv=# create rule viewpatrixcust as on update to viewpatrix do instead update customer set firstname=new.firstname, lastname=new.lastname where custid=old.custid; CREATE RULE kv=# But how to make that the user can I also update the data in the table "customer" (customer.firstname and customer.lastname).
