I can't get a driver to work for the D-Link with either 2.2.18 or 2.4.2. I have downloaded software drivers directly from D-Link as well as tried to use the latest drivers from sylid or whatever.

The 2.2 kernels have all network drivers compiled in. The 2.4 kernel has it as modules. Do a "modprobe mace" and find a proper driver for your Dlink.
