Is it not supported via alsa? Do you know why alsa is not working?

The k_deflt*-3.ppc.rpm supports sound on the ibook, but you have no mixer functionality. Here is a link: http://lists.linuxppc.org/listarcs/linuxppc-dev/200101/msg00008.html You need alsa.rpm (possible that the alsa package that came with 7.0 works). alsamixergui is a neat mixer, but it doesntwork yet on the iBook. I will create an alsa folder here, as soon as I find some time: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/alsa/ Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

Thanks, but do you know were I would be able to find info about the ibook sound "system" (hardware) I have been thinking about getting one for my son. Regards Even
I have found that the most detailed info on Apple's hardware is from the developer's pages on the apple web site. Info is available as HTML or PDF and you don't have to sign up to gain access to these pages. http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/hardware/hardware.html If anyone knows of a place to find even more detail than this, please let us know! thanks joss Even wrote:

Has anyone been able to use sshd on linuxppc? It seems to compile and install, however the service never starts properly. Also, it is listed as included software for the suse7.0 distribution but it is not there. Any thoughts as to where I can find a version which will work. Due some legal stuff, at the time of the 7.0 it was not possible to include ssh in the international version. You can find the packages (and other crypto stuff) here: ftp.suse.de/pub/suse/ppc/update/7.0/sec1/
