Trying to get SuSE 7.0 for PPC to work...Newbie to Mac
Hi, I am used to installing SuSE on x86, but I got an iMac because my PC quit. I am having problems with SuSE PPC. I install SuSE 7.0 on an iMac DVSE. It installs fine, but I shutdown or restart, and I find myself presented with a blank, gray screen, and so I re-install, as if it didn't stick. What do I do. Someone on the Debian PPC mailing list says SuSE doesn't know how to make a bootloader, but that's what I expect from another distro's list. I like SuSE, and want 7.0 because I like all the packages. Please don't tell me to upgrade to 7.1 as I haven't got 7.0 to work, and shouldn't upgrade in case it is SuSE's bootloader. But, I had Debian and had to do like, ofpath /dev/hda and then mkofboot commands. So, how do I get SuSE to stick. I would really appriciate ALL help, so I can mess with this Distro. I have an ATI Rage, and want to do some cool 3D things on SuSE, like POV Ray and the SSystem program. I heard they are really nifty. Anywho cheers, Patrick

once again: what happens when you hold down "command + alt + o +f" on startup until the OpenFirmware boot prompt appears and you simply type "boot"? Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
