UDF on kernel 2.6.8.1 umount unmount hangs
Running kernel 2.6.8.1 udftools are installed and the kernel is patched per the project website instructions kernel module udf is loaded ok with modconf - from debian writting seems to work fine until a sync or a umount. these commands hand and a reboot is needed to clear them. The resulting cdrw has corrupted directory entries and files. ex... an ls shows a file but rm says the file doesnt exist. Any thoughts? thanks

There are probably some messages in log files in /var/log, especially in
kern.log. Please take a look. Use the following command to list log files
which have been written into recently:
cd /var/log; ls -l --sort=time | head

Are you sure it hangs? A umount after you have written lots of data to the disc takes some time, because the yet unwritten buffers need to be flushed. Sorry for this simple reply, but sometimes you don't see the most obvious answer. Ingo
