problem formatting cd-rw with kernel 2.5.70-bk12
Hello, I have patched linux-2.5.70-bk12 with the packet-2.5.70 patch and rebuilt the kernel. I was trying to format a disk, and I got the following error: bear:~# cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -q using device /dev/sr0 2338KB internal buffer setting write speed to 12x Settings for /dev/sr0: Fixed packets, size 32 Mode-2 disc I'm going to do a quick setup of /dev/sr0. The disc is going to be blanked and formatted with one big track. All data on the device will be lost!! Press CTRL-C to cancel now. ENTER to continue. It doesn't work on my internal IDE CDRW either. (In native mode, haven't tried scsi emulation.) I'll try to figure out what's wrong. -- Peter Osterlund - petero2@telia.com http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340

I fixed some problems so that cdrwtool now works on my USB CDRW drive: http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340/patches/packet/2.5/packet-2.6.0-test1.pat... I'm not sure if those bug fixes will make it work on your computer too, but I think it is worth a try. -- Peter Osterlund - petero2@telia.com http://w1.894.telia.com/~u89404340

It fixes some of my problems. cdrwtool fails at the end with some sense errors. Mounting fails with more errors and bus resets. florin -- "NT is to UNIX what a doughnut is to a particle accelerator."
