You could try adding devel:languages:perl to your repository paths (https://build.opensuse.org/stage/project/meta?project=home%3Adoiggl) so the buildsystem can find your required packages. I tried a linkage file _link which had the line in it
<link project='devel:languages:perl' package='perl'/>
Frankly, you do not want to build a newer perl for your existing distro. You will end up in plenty of incompatible packages. In case you want it anyway, build against all the binaries and not just rebuild one single source package of them. You can do so by replacing the "path" element in your project meta data: osc meta prj -e $YOUR_PROJECT and replace <path project="openSUSE:11.2" repository="standard" /> with <path project="devel:languages:perl" repository="openSUSE_11.2" /> for example. Note: do not add two pathes in this cases, because with the wrong order you create new incompatibilities because an older packager might be preferd over the newer one.
That did not work - I still got errors (see below) Project -> https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=koha&project=home%3Adoiggl Thanks Glenn
