Hallo, Zuerst muss ich mich entschuldigen, ich bin Amerikaner, mein Deutsch ist nicht fliessend. Ich habe gestern Suse 8.2 auf meinem HP Laptop installiert. Alles ist ganz gut gegangen und der Laptop funktioniert gut. Ich habe nur ein problem. Ich sehe keine Batterie, ich meine ich kann die Batterieladung nicht sehen. Wenn ich im "Control Center" schaue, unter "Power Control", finde ich (auf Englisch) ""your computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably enabled, but some of the sub-options were not-you need to enable at least "AC adapter" and "Control Method Battery" and then rebuild your kernel." Muss ich Suse 8.2 wieder installieren? Wenn ich mich richtig daran erinnere, hatte ich keine Wahl, "AC adapter und Control Method Battery" waehrend der Installation auszuwaehlen. Danke, Wayne

Muss ich Suse 8.2 wieder installieren? Wenn ich mich richtig daran erinnere, hatte ich keine Wahl, "AC adapter und Control Method Battery" waehrend der Installation auszuwaehlen.
diese beiden Module kannst du auch per Hand nachladen, allerdings macht das auch bei mir (Toshiba Satellite 5000) keinen Unterschied, ich habe dasselbe Problem. Ersatz gibt das Programm "akpi", das du über Google finden solltest. Du kannst es als Benutzer starten und dir damit den Ladestand des Akkus und die Temperatur anzeigen lassen. Gruß Kai

Das sind Kernel-Module. YAST fragt Dich nicht danach, Du hast nichts verpasst.

merkwuerdigerweise wird bei SuSE standardmaessig der ACPI-Dienst beim booten nicht gestartet. Du musst das im Yast RunlevelEditor expliziet anschalten, dann sollte es gehen. Wolfgang
