Hallo Ihr alle, ich hab' hier ein Problem damit, eine Toshiba Mini PCI WLAN-Karte (Lucent-Chipsatz, über PCI-to-CardBus-Bridge) unter SuSE 7.3 (Kernel 2.4.20) auf einem Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 zum Laufen zu bekommen. (Ich weiß, bei 8.x kann man's über YaST konfigurieren, aber a) Geldfrage und b) würd ich gern wissen, wie mans von Hand macht...) Die relevanten Kerneloptionen sind gesetzt (CONFIG_WIRELESS, CONFIG_HERMES undsoweiter), die Karte wird auch vom Cardmanager erkannt (siehe Anhang) und laut dmesg auch korrekt initialisiert (auch siehe Anhang), aber beim Booten kommt die Meldung vom DHClient "Device eth1 is not available at the moment. Please check that the driver is set up correctly.", und weder ifconfig noch iwconfig wissen von der Karte. (Weder SuSEfirewall2 noch personal-firewall sind übrigens auf eth1 angesetzt.) Ich hab ein bißchen den Überblick verloren, wo ich was konfigurieren muß. /etc/modules.conf? /etc/pcmcia/config? /etc/pcmcia/orinoco_cs.conf? orinoco- oder orinoco_cs-Treiber? Oder doch wvlan_cs (die Meinungen sind geteilt)? An welche Kartendefinition binden? Soll ich eth1 erst unter YaST einrichten? Als PCMCIA oder nicht? Und wenns dann mal läuft, wie wechselt man zwischen verschiedenen Konfigurationsschemata? (Zuletzt hab ich mir mit dem Versuch "cardctl scheme essidany" erst mal solide das PCMCIA-System zerschossen, so daß ich nicht mehr auf ein CD-RW-Laufwerk zugreifen konnte, das über eine USB-2.0-PCMCIA-Karte läuft, und der Rechner sich beim Runterfahren am Entladen von PCMCIA aufgehängt hat...) Wenn jemand mit ein paar dieser Fragen Erfahrung hat -- ich freu mich über jede Rückmeldung.
