Hi, I just uploaded the nonoss addon and the DVDs and I made the 11.4/repo/ directory public, so this part spreads already all over the world. The next thing to open up are the torrents, I guess we will start seeding late tomorrow, you're welcome to seed too - the tracker is up. The bit flip is done at 2pm CET (Z1300), it would be great if you can open up some minutes before that, so that we can do a mirror scan right after flipping and get a good load. Thanks - that's of course an interesting detail to forget :) Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mirror+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: mirror+help@opensuse.org

another thing: You may want to check the MD5/SHA1 data of the ISOs. These
are wrong (refer to wrong filenames), at least in the directories I have
so far.

At release times downloads from stage become very slow and it's a pain to pull the iso images. I expect our current rsync will last about 8-12h... Things would be *much* faster if you provided jigdo/templates for the isos so that big (full) mirrors could build them locally. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mirror+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: mirror+help@opensuse.org

If someone wants to invest into creating such templates for openSUSE, I'm fine but I don't see a way to create them easily. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mirror+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: mirror+help@opensuse.org

I hate to say this but jigdo is a bigger PITA than the slowness. The best thing you can do is tier the mirroring, it really will help the entire situation, allowing the bigger mirrors to sync directly with the OpenSuse mirrors and the smaller ones sync from them. - John 'Warthog9' Hawley Chief Kernel.org Administrator -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mirror+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: mirror+help@opensuse.org
