GLib from OpenSUSE Factory
All the mingw repositories are rebuilding again because of an update in Factory GLib. Wouldn't it be better to base the GLib (and possibly other packages in windows:mingw too) on the more stable 11.4 packages? +1 I think only a mingw:Factory repo should use Factory. Otherwise, the latest stable (11.4 I guess) would be best for all else. That is my 2 cents.

I see that some of the packages have already been rebased to 11.4,
thanks Fridrich!
Perhaps it would be possible to move over gtk-doc, make, pkg-config
(and perhaps libqt4 and mono-core too) also, because they (indirectly)
depend on Factory too.
After that is done, building for 11.4 and factory can be disabled in
windows:mingw for the packages that are branches of 11.4
Is there any particular reason that autoconf is not based on the 11.4 version?

Yup, just a perl inplace edit and commit, please if you have time, can you disable their building on 11.4 since they are identical

Feel free for gtk-doc and make for sure. The pkg-config's problem was that the pkg.m4 macro was having problems with new autoconf. That is why I pulled the newest possible, but quite possible that the pkg-config from 11.4 is ok, feel free to change that and we will see. libqt4's problem is that I need always for the cross-compilation the qmake from the same major and minor as the cross-compiled qt4. That is why the link is from something that has for sure 4.7.x. Also for factory. This is build-only dependency, because libraries that use libqt4, but not qmake don't need to know about it. Not sure what is the least cumbersome solution. Mono, I had problems with older versions when cross-compiling the C# stuff. One can try to experiment though.

If I remember well, the newer autoconf versions from 11.4 and factory are using the sources in tar.xz or tar.lzma formats which is not understood by SLE_11*. That is why I just cloned the autoconf. I needed it for some package that needed it to be quite fresh. I told myself that newer version from the distro will be anyway preferred on a real-life machine of a user and during the cross-build inside OBS, it will not be making much difference. Again, there is some experimentation to be done and disable the build on platforms that have the equivalent/newer autoconf, although I cannot remember now whether I did not patch the package ;) F. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.16 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk3zdwkACgkQu9a1imXPdA8k4QCdHC3srAdYZofueWzpQEWoqbxg DcYAnjXElqrInw+wWuasMSLedCQkUAic =qiwZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-mingw+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-mingw+help@opensuse.org
