Hello , This looks good , well what i feel is that the 'Credits' section is not required in all the releases instead mention it at one place say at the front/main page , if the contributors are same.If not then i guess it would be problem but this is just my personal opinion. Hello, I dont know, when I make a thing new I use my head and think how its the best way. I find it very funny to publish the headlines in news.o.o and the own in the wiki. I find it funny that there is a link to the rss feed of the news.o.o and I could read it there. Thats not true a can read a ugly looking teaser ther nothing more! A wiki is a platform for working collaborative on things nothing more it isnt the best way to publish things like the own. The usabilitiy of that is more and more ugly. See the attachment what I see when I surfing to the page. Make more and more categories make the own not better br gnokii Am Sonntag, den 04.04.2010, 11:20 +0530 schrieb Shayon Mukherjee:

A wiki is a platform for working collaborative on things nothing more it isnt the best way to publish things like the own.
Other distros put out their weekly news via email, I believe.
Certainly Debian does.
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned that before, but... really, if the idea
is to spread the news far and wide, the best scheme in my opinion
would be to do the work on the wiki & then put into openSUSE News +
send out via email.
Just a thought.
Best,
Zonker

We have spoken about this before, the best way isnt to put it in the wiki. The wiki provides no RSS feeds the best way ist to put it on news.o.o and send it via mail. That maybe spreads a little bit wider because, it lands on feedreader and on the planet also ;) But it is important to think about that before the other steps ;) br gnokii
Just a thought.
Best,

You should be able to just get the News itself by selecting the text
you want and using "View Selection Source" from Firefox's context
menu.
But, it might be a bit complex. Still -- in the long run I think
publishing on the wiki is sub-optimal.
Best,
Zonker

Hi all together! I have some notes according to the new design of the openSUSE Weekly News. I think that the big logo on top of the site is not appropriate for a web page. It would be better to locate it e.g. top right and decrease its size. Moreover I am missing the past AND upcoming events. I do not want to divide them but to look e.g. only for upcoming ones. It would be great to categorize them in two different sections. Moreover it would be good to have an extra section for Ambassador Events. But all in all, I like the new design. I also like the criticized links beneath the events because the WN are only published once a week, so there could be differences... You can just copy and paste the wiki page into the wordpress visual editor and it will look/work just fine. I always asked myself why you guys don't do that. Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. What is the best (or, better than as it is now, at least) structure / layout for OWN ? What kind of articles / informations should OWN provide ? Where is the best place to publish OWN ? -- Those depend on what we think the main role and purpose of OWN are. And as I made out several times in the past, there's a little difference between the role and purpose of original English OWN and which of translated OWN. Let's look at the role and purpose of original English OWN first. We can see the definition of the role and purpose of OWN at: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News <quote> The aim of the newsletter is to summarize all the finer details occurring in and around the openSUSE Community.
