I am Ish Sookun from Mauritius. Glad to find someone from the African continent. You could start by telling your folks about openSUSE and demo'ing them a couple of tricks you can do on an openSUSE desktop. In Mauritius, during conference presentations I usually ask people about common tasks they do & I do the same on openSUSE. It usually impresses people that a "free software" in the sense that it costs nothing, could actually achieve so much. Common things that you can do would be: - Edit documents & print on openSUSE - Browse the Internet using Firefox, Google Chrome, Vivaldi browser etc. - Use Skype to talk - Show VLC playing video files - Download Youtube videos (people usually ask me about this one) - Install a software development suite/IDE (Microsoft Visual Studio Code works just fine) - You can also customize your distro using SUSE Studio and show people the freedom they have to unleash their creativity with openSUSE Then write reports about your activities, events etc and share with the rest of the openSUSE community. Hello, welcome :-) We need as much help as possible, and we can help as well. You may take some time to understand how the openSUSE community works, because it's mostly unformal I see you have already an openSUSE account, good, it's the first step. Then, open your personal page on https://connect.opensuse.org/ and do not forget to write down there all what you do, specially if this is not visible on the net. Drop also some words about you and what you try to do. are you a student? where? what level? we need to now a bit to help you :-) Then, try to find some friends to help you around you (physically), if not openSUSE, there are probably some users of other distro as well and you can share your work. thanks you jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org
