[opensuse-marketing] News Site Listings
Has anyone come up with a nice list of news feed sites that we can suggest our article writers to submit themselves to, such as lxer, slashdot, etc.? Might be nice to ensure that when someone writes a really good article that it be picked up in multiple locations. Pointing them to that list motivates them to write even more and well.. the world is just a little bit greener for that. :-) -- ---Bryen--- Let's rejoice a "There are no dumb questions" culture. But I really need you to have a "No dumb answers" policy before I answer your question. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I've generated a few such lists for myself and others, but I don't think we have anything posted publicly. Off the top of my head, I work with or send some releases to: OStatic (I write for the site, and I know writers on the site) Linux Magazine (US) (Again, I write for the site) Linux Magazine Pro Linux Weekly News Download Squad Linux Today DesktopLinux.com LinuxPR.com ZDNet (Jason Perlow) CIO.com Ars Technica (Ryan Paul) Internetnews.com LXer There are others, but those are the ones off the top of my head. We probably have some good contacts in Europe for anyone who can contribute news / articles in German. :-) One thing to consider -- we do a lot of really good articles like the sneak peeks, which are great to run on news.opensuse.org -- but it would also be a good idea to pitch some of these articles to other publications *for pay* by the authors.

For germany at least the following should be on your list Heise News (www.heise.de), golem (http://www.golem.de), Pro-Linux (http://www.pro-linux.de). What's the right format to point out some story here? There "mail lwn@lwn.net" is rather ambiguous at this point. Bye, Steve -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Yeah, but that's the right address -- lwn@lwn.net is the best way to submit anything to them. Note that you can also contact individual LWN authors, but generally for announcements that's the best address.
