[opensuse-marketing] Launch Event
Hi, I want to host a openSUSE 11.3 launch part at my institute among my students and friends. Since my place is not having very high speed internet connection it will be difficult for me to download the media on time. Will it be possible for you to send me openSUSE 11.3 media (around 10 nos, or else only two-one each 64bit and 32 bit) so that I can make copies and distribute among the participants? I will be much happy if I get a positive reply. -- Neel Kamal Kalita Dept of Basic Sciences, Don Bosco College of Engg. & Tech, Guwahati, Assam-781017 web: http://www.neelsworld.in -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Neel, Glad to see you're planning a launch party. Where at? It is highly doubtful that we will be able to send you 11.3 media in time for the launch. Such media usually is prepared after the launch and you would have to rely on downloading the release as it happens. Are you able to download from a different location and then go to the launch party? Hi Neel, I am from Guwahati myself. I would like to help you plan your launch party. I have conducted install fests myself and give talks on open source technologies and openSUSE. If you need any help from me I can help you. I have spoken two or three occasions ealier. Yes, internet is a big problem over here. Since the public launch is scheduled on 21st June what you can do is download an openSUSE cd along with a NON OSS cd which I am sure can be downloaded in 20 days since all the downloads are resumable However do let me know how do you plan to go about the event -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Thanks Shayon for volunteering me :-) If any of you in India want DVDs, please send me a mail stating your postal address and the number of DVDs you want. We will not be able to ship the DVDs immediately, when the 11.3 release is done. But I will send it as soon as I get the DVDs. You can get LiFE DVDs from Jigish 20 days used to be the time few years back, but these days internet speed has increased and I thought it should not take more than a week max, anywhere in India. I amsurprised to see "20 days" in your mail :-) Sankar http://psankar.blogspot.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Are you able to download from a different location and then go to the launch party? Also you can ask for participants to bring their usb disks to copy the previous downloaded iso image to them.
Take some pictures and is a good idea to have some presentations up there. If you need something more to aggregate value to your event, let us know. best regards and keep in touch CarlosRibeiro
