[opensuse-marketing] Twitter metrics for release?
What is the best way to measure the success for our release on twitter - and how to do it? My naive metrics would be: * number of retweets * number of tweets about #openSUSE How can I track those? What other metrics are usefull? Bit.ly has all that data. I'm gonna call a friend at Twitter to see
what else he suggests.
By the way, here is the corrected link where the Linux Action show
guys are asking to talk to an OpenSUSE guy

Let me say a word first, u self made it harder. First u published the blogpost on news.o.o then u went to the opensuse twitter account and tweet it. Some minutes later tweeted opensuse it automaticly via twitterfeed. When u like to see how often this was retweeted go to the twitter account und look behind the link retweets. The only twitter monitoring tool I know for finding out how many hashtags is twittmeme, but I find it not really useful. On the end it isnt really important how many tweets and retweets there was

you can try http://backtweets.com/ that can show all tweets they point on a specific url

Just double work - and twitterfeed is done automatically...
When u like to see how often this was retweeted go to the twitter account und look behind the link retweets.
That only gives the new retweets, but not the "RT" ones. backtweet and the bit.ly stats tell me: 738 clicks on the one URL, 90 on the other 398 tweets about the release using the URL I couldn't find directly additional stats - and doubt I have anything for 11.2, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
