[opensuse-marketing] [OWN] Translation-Teams / Coordinators
Hi @all - last mail for today :D . As we want to strengthen and expand our translation-teams to share the work on many shoulders, we need to organize a bit to keep track who is who/who does what and so on. Sascha proposed that every language-team elects/appoints a coordinator which acts as spokesperson for the team, organizes the translation-process and also keeps an eye on the ready-table (please don't forget to update it also for "delay/not available" - it really helps us !). We've created a page on the wiki for you to fill in your team's data. http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/Translators Best, Jan-Simon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I have a question that I asked during our last meeting but didn't get an answer: Should coordinator be counted as one of the translators ? For example, we Japanese team has decided that I would be the coordinator. In this case, should I put my name only as the coordinator or as both translator and coordinator ? And, below is my proposal. Although the current table is simple enough to edit, I think it's a little bit narrow and we can only put our handle there. Therefore, I curiously made a new table as test. http://en.opensuse.org/Talk:OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/Translators If you look at the wiki source, you can find the syntax in not so complex. The basic structure is: |- # This indicates the beginning of the line. | Language | First translator | Second translator | Third translator | Coordinator # Coordinator have to be put on the last line. For example: |- | 日本語 | Naruhiko Ogasawara | Ko Kazaana | | Satoru Matsumoto As you can see, we can use the link in this table, so that we can know not only his (or her) name but also additional informations about him (or her). I hope you like it and it will be used. ;-) Best, -- _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto - openSUSE Member - Japan _/_/ _/_/ Marketing/Weekly News/openFATE Screening Team _/_/ _/_/ mail: helios_reds_at_gmx.net / irc: HeliosReds _/_/ _/_/ http://blog.geeko.jp/author/heliosreds _/_/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Suggestion: CC -translation ML. I don't know why this discussion on translations (as many others) are going on here. Translators are not required and not supposed to be subscribed to all ML's. It is becoming messy to follow things IMHO. Regards, A. Il giorno ven, 27/03/2009 alle 17.19 +0100, Sascha 'saigkill' Manns ha scritto:

Well, isn't translation and its coordination linked wirh marketing OpenSuse (OS) ? Or i'm already sleeping ? Is this list for something else that finding opportunities to market OS in the best way possible ? I might have misunderstood something, did you mean there's a dedicated mailing list already ? Anyway, this does not impede other lists to try to improve this subject , does it ? (as translation helps marketing , in this case) Fabrice Le vendredi 27 mars 2009 23:12:24, Alberto Passalacqua a écrit :
