I have found the mistake. The package
ft2demos
was missing. Therefore in the script
/sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.ghostscript-cjk
last "if"
was not entered. I am not sure, whether this is documented.
After the instalation of the package it works.
Thanks for your help!

Thank you!
I have already installed this package, as the Chinese and Japanese part of the page work.
I run again the "SuSEconfig --module ghostscript-cjk", unfortunately nothing like
/usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H
has been created.
To save time, the /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.ghostscript-cjk script regenerates this only, when /usr/share/ghostscript/CIDFont/Baekmuk-Gulim doesn't exist. Other wise it assumes that it has been generated before.
Look at this:
root@magellan:~# ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 384 Nov 25 15:27 /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H root@magellan:~#
File exists. Remove it:
root@magellan:~# rm /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H rm /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H root@magellan:~#
Running SuSEconfig doesn't regenerate it:
root@magellan:~# SuSEconfig --module ghostscript-cjk SuSEconfig --module ghostscript-cjk Starting SuSEconfig, the SuSE Configuration Tool... Running module ghostscript-cjk only Reading /etc/sysconfig and updating the system... Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.ghostscript-cjk... Finished. root@magellan:~# root@magellan:~# ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H ls: /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H: No such file or directory root@magellan:~#
because /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/CIDFont/Baekmuk-Gulim still exists which makes the script think everything has been generated already. Deleting /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/CIDFont/Baekmuk-Gulim triggers the script to regenerate the "Baekmuk-Gulim" related files:
root@magellan:~# rm /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/CIDFont/Baekmuk-Gulim rm /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/CIDFont/Baekmuk-Gulim root@magellan:~# SuSEconfig --module ghostscript-cjk SuSEconfig --module ghostscript-cjk Starting SuSEconfig, the SuSE Configuration Tool... Running module ghostscript-cjk only Reading /etc/sysconfig and updating the system... Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.ghostscript-cjk... +Baekmuk-Gulim=/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/gulim.ttf Finished. root@magellan:~# ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H ll /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 384 Nov 25 15:29 /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/Baekmuk-Gulim-UniKS-UTF8-H root@magellan:~#
Does this work for you?
I have already installed these packages:
ghostscript-fonts-other-7.05.6-23 ghostscript-fonts-std-7.05.6-23 ghostscript-library-7.05.6-23 ghostscript-x11-7.05.6-23 ghostscript-fonts-kanji-5.50-68
I recommend not to install ghostscript-fonts-kanji, it is mainly of historical interest now. If this package is installed, vertical printing for Japanese won't work and you don't gain anything over printing with the Japanese Kochi TrueType fonts which are used when ghostscript-kanji is not installed.
ghostscript-cjk-20021119-34 ghostscript-fonts-rus-7.05.6-23
baekmuk-2.1-87 baekmuk-ttf-2.1-87

It is mentioned in http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/suse-cjk/ghostscript.html That's not obvious, sorry.
After the instalation of the package it works.
