[opensuse-kernel] 3.11-rc4: LVM broken?
I use whole-disk encryption on my laptop and tried 3.11-rc4 - and it could not read my volume groups at all from the initial ramdisk. I had to reboot to 3.10... Is there anything I need to change for 3.11? Or is LVM broken? Just as an additional datapoint: without whole-disk encryption, LVM works fine for me: susi:~ # lvs LV VG Attr LSize Pool Origin Data% Move Log Copy% Convert arch main -wi-a---- 7.00g factory main -wi-a---- 6.20g goog-muma main -wi-a---- 10.00g local main -wi-ao--- 160.00g pdftk-12.2 main -wi-a---- 6.20g sles11sp2-sara main -wi-a---- 6.00g sles11sp2-test main -wi-a---- 10.00g sles11sp2-test-bak main -wi-a---- 10.00g space main -wi-ao--- 100.00g susi:~ # pvs PV VG Fmt Attr PSize PFree /dev/sda9 main lvm2 a-- 370.35g 54.96g susi:~ # vgs VG #PV #LV #SN Attr VSize VFree main 1 9 0 wz--n- 370.35g 54.96g susi:~ # df -l Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/sda6 20511356 15908764 3537812 82% / devtmpfs 4030200 64 4030136 1% /dev [... tmpfs mounts] /dev/mapper/main-space 104806400 98066140 6740260 94% /space /dev/mapper/main-local 167690240 149314796 18375444 90% /local /dev/mapper/cr_sda7 20510328 11688548 7756876 61% /home susi:~ # uname -a Linux susi.home.s3e.de 3.11.0-rc4-2.g01695c8-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Aug 5 21:01:13 UTC 2013 (01695c8) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux So it is at least not completely broken :-) -- Stefan Seyfried "If your lighter runs out of fluid or flint and stops making fire, and you can't be bothered to figure out about lighter fluid or flint, that is not Zippo's fault." -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for the confirmation. So, is encryption perhaps broken? Does anybody have an idea how to debug this? Since I use whole-disk encryption, I don't know how to stop quickly or debug this, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
