[opensuse-kernel] CONFIG_IPV6_SIT_6RD
Is there a specific reason why the kernels for the 11.4 snapshots are not built with CONFIG_IPV6_SIT_6RD? As per the following article, it appears that the only thing missing from the 11.4 snapshots in order to run IPV6 on Comcast, is the CONFIG_IPV6_SIT_6RD: http://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/371742-ipv6-6rd-linux-router-on-comcast... using-ubuntu-maverick-1010 -- Warren -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org

It was introduced in 2.6.33, which was before we started actively documenting why config options were enabled or disabled. It probably wasn't enabled because it was (and still is) an experimental feature. It seems isolated to the ipv6 sit code, though. If nobody with more IPV6 knowledge objects, I don't have a problem enabling it for 11.4. - -Jeff - -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.16 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEUEARECAAYFAk0jRlsACgkQLPWxlyuTD7K9dgCcD6IsPXeP4JN75Hczf5LijV+9 b28Al3wlGBZMGsH9T0j9zLthKDArwqQ= =uO32 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org

It looks safe. I agree it should be enabled.

Where does one find the documentation of why config options were enabled or disabled ? Thanks Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org

It should be in the kernel-source SRPM. It's definitely available in the git repo under doc/config-options.changes. - -Jeff - -- Jeff Mahoney SUSE Labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.16 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk0jUWwACgkQLPWxlyuTD7JkNQCeOAOfeDt4O1NR6OF1d8XjTljj AzkAn0CtQa1kLZcCrDKhZjIsm9YH+D99 =I8Fc -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+help@opensuse.org
