[opensuse-kernel] kernel tools packaging
Hi, the kernel provides a number of tools in the tools/ subdir. I think some of them would be nice to package, such as tools/gpio and tools/spi, especially for ARM. What would be the best way to do it? Integrate those tools in kernel packaging (Create a new spec file in kernel sources), or create a standalone package outside the kernel packaging (see [1])? An extra package would be handy, as we do for perf or some others. You don't have to include the whole linux tarball in your package. Instead, add "BuildReq: kernel-source" and copy from there to the local build directory. Thank you for your quick answer. I will update the package to use kernel-source and then submit it to a proper OBS project. Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

There already is a package, it just needs to be maintained and extended: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:tools/linux-tools Regards, Andreas -- SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
