--- Hi, this backport patch already stacked to mainline for v5.1. IMHO it'd be nice not having to wait for v5.1 (some people use suspend often).
Is this the fix for kernel: printk: Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug) kernel: tpm tpm0: tpm_try_transmit: send(): error -5 kernel: tpm tpm0: Error (-5) sending savestate before suspend kernel: PM: __pnp_bus_suspend(): tpm_pm_suspend+0x0/0x80 returns -5 kernel: PM: dpm_run_callback(): pnp_bus_freeze+0x0/0x10 returns -5 kernel: PM: Device 00:05 failed to quiesce: error -5 kernel: PM: Failed to load hibernation image, recovering. ? (I did not report this yet because I'm running a rather oldish Kernel:HEAD kernel and had no time to check if it is already fixed in newer versions) I worked around this one with "initcall_blacklist=init_tis" for now :-) -- Stefan Seyfried "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- Richard Feynman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

If you want to speed things up, you should rather create a pull request in the kernel-source repository.

The pull request for SUSE branches are created in SUSE's kernel-source git repository via user for-next branches, see https://wiki.microfocus.net/index.php?title=SUSE-Labs_Publications/Kernel_GIT&wpName=Pmladek&wpPassword=#Adding_your_changes Note that you need to add bugzilla reference and a Signed-off-by with a SUSE's address. I've done some pushes for SLES kernel via my for-next branch. But I guess this is solely for openSUSE (bug was introduced in v4.20-rc2. Is it still the case? OK, I see in kernel cgit master and stable branches under openSUSE. So I guess stable branch (users/pvorel/stable/for-next) is the correct one. If master, please let me know. Sure, there is no difference.

stable is fine. Master is already at rc4; containing the fix. thanks, -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Not really, but rc5 will... On Sunday or Monday :P. -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
