[opensuse-kernel] Is the kernel production in a rut?
I use the ..../stable/...... kernel repository to get, and keep, the latest stable kernel on my 13.1 Desktop system (ie, I don't use the 'release' kernel'). Over the past ~week there were 2 updates for- kernel-devel which brought this file to version 3.14.5-2.1. Nice. But where are the associated files- kernel-desktop and kernel-desktop-devel ? In the past I have seen an update for kernel-devel and without updates to the other 2 files. However, the next day (for me) the other 2 files were available for installation. But not this time - as I said, it's been around a week without any sign of the updates for kernel-desktop and kernel-desktop-devel. What's the problem? The build system is crippled. The kernel was not rebuilt. I expect it to be fixed tomorrow as I pushed 3.14.6 recently. -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you. Looking forward to the 3.14.6 version. BS sucks. It does not build the kernels in Kernel:stable anymore. Sources are 3.15, but builds are from 3.14.5 :/. -- js suse labs -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

Well, 25 hours have gone by since you posted the above but still no sign of the kernel. What's the latest update of the situation? It's still not doing what Stephan stated on 24 May: "I accepted 3.15rc5 after openqa tested it OK, but it won't be published in factory unless the size issue is fixed. 6,1M 13. Apr 13:12 vmlinux-3.14.0-2-desktop.gz 67M 23. Mai 16:46 vmlinux-3.15.0-rc5-1-desktop.gz So the kernel image grew 1098% - please someone have a look at it." ? :-) BC -- Over the years you've helped raise awareness of a number of issues but the main one has been what a pain in the arse you are. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org

It seems to be resolved in 3.15 from kernel:stable project. (6.9 M for kernel 3.15.0 for i586). Guillaume -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kernel+owner@opensuse.org
