xearth and xglobe
Hi! I am not able to get either of this programs started. I tried various parameters, but the background of the desktop does not change. I am using Suse 9.0 professional. Perhaps someone could give me an example command line. The man pages could not help, by the way. Thanks, Christopher.

Activate 'programs in desktop' (somethng like that) in kcontrol -> desktop -> behaviour than kcontrol -> look & feel -> background -> Modus = background program After that the background program should work -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
Both Xearth and Xglobe are background programs - NOT run from command line. To activate either, do as follows. Right click on desktop -> Configure Desktop In Settings - KDE Control Module select Background on left. Tick Common Background (optional) In Wallpaper tab select No Wallpaper In Background tab select Mode = Background Program Left click on Setup Select background program (xplanet/xearth/xglobe or whatever you have) OK => OK IMHO xplanet is better - you can use maps from xearth/xglobe, cnoneustomise markers and lots of other goodies! (And it has a good documentation) On Wednesday 18 February 2004 19:20, Richard Bos wrote:none
