I've seen at the "Novell Tour 2004" in Berlin both Desktops, Novell Linux desktop contains KDE and gnome, depends on country. e.g. in germany is kde the favourite, in the US gnome. Tom

YOU may think it's Gnome in the US, but I've money that says otherwise. Fred -- "Running Windows on a Pentium is like getting a Porsche but only being able to drive it in reverse with the handbrake on."
Are'nt we talking about Ximian? This is very much a Gnome based desktop. I think is is a very good one too. I hope Suse keep helping to maintaining KDE because I find it much easier to use it to aid the migration from Windows. Simple things like a default start menu at bottom left helps the cause. It would be a brave move for Novell to drop KDE especially as all the other distributions have KDE - even fedora...massive corporations like Novell are not know for being brave! It wouldn't be "brave," but stupid! KDE is MUCH MORE mature than Gnome & Ximian. And, yes - it's very easy to move 'Bloze users to KDE. Fred -- "Running Windows on a Pentium is like getting a Porsche but only being able to drive it in reverse with the handbrake on."

I'm a KDE fan. Period:-) But I feel like the Lone Stranger here. SuSE offers several options besides KDE and Gnome. Even if they changed the default to Gnome, we would probably just be in the situation that the Gnome users are now. If they drop KDE, I know where to find KDE.org. You never know what the bosses will do. Rich
