[opensuse-kde] patch for klipper
Heya, I've been having performance issues with Klipper - it doesn't handle search in a large history very well. Turns out, there's a patch, which actually works: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=238084 I managed to add and build it: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kdebase4-workspace&project=home%3Ajospoortvliet%3Abranches%3AKDE%3ARelease%3A410 I think its great... Could we include it? /J -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Why not integrate directly upstream?
Yeah, I pinged on the bug report, but I'm totally not qualified to judge more about the patch than that it works... I think it can and should go upstream and perhaps somebody will pick it up but no guarantees. /J

Hi Jos, Besides going upstream, just also BURP it into KDF. Please be aware that KDF is currently holding 4.11 Beta 1 !! If you believe it is important enough to get it also as an update out to openSUSE 12.3, then BURP it into KR410. Then with the next update of KDE (4.10.5), it will go automatically as a maintenance update. I don't have time to check the BR at the moment (almost heading off for work) but do you know if any of the klipper maintainers (if any) commented on the patch in that bug entry? While we can incorporate it for the time being as a stop-gap solution, my suggestion would be, once we test it with a larger base (KDF may be a good place to test it) to push for its inclusion upstream. IOW: 1. Get the patch in for KDF 2. Test it 3. Push for inclusion in upstream KDE Opinions? -- Luca Beltrame - KDE Forums team KDE Science supporter GPG key ID: 6E1A4E79
