Hello List, i recently updated to KDE3.4 and since then encrypted mails are not shown correctly. In the previous version of KMail I used to type in my passphrase and the encrypted data was shown, now this is no longer working. The question for teh passphrase is no longer popping up. So I have to copy the data to the clipboard and decrypt it there. Has anyone experienced the same behavior and is able to help me?? Signed messages are shown just fine. i am using Suse 9.2, KDE3.4 (KMail1.8) greetings Thomas -- Thomas Wedehase Nuernberg, Germany www.thomaswedehase.com PGP-KEY: 0x3337F9AC "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
Hi: I am having trouble here(suse 9.3/kde 3.4) navigating with konqueror. Sometimes it works well, but after a while it complaints of not knowing about the requested URL. Later, after I manage to get it to work(by insisting), then web sites are shown without images...very poorly rendered!!! I prefer konqueror to firefox or mozilla, and have allways been satisfied with it in all others version of suse. Anybody have any idea what's going on on this suse 9.3. thanks in advance jorge

The problems comes when you log out and in kde sessions(without rebooting). I think it has something to do with zeroconf(new mdnsd support in kde 3.4) creating kinda conflict...maybe duplicating some service, I guess. Do you have by chance any local server running(kpf for exemple)?

I do to, earlier the was a thread about DNS being the problem, I tried both solutions offered and no joy on two different computers. It's a flaw in super nice release. Rich

HEY, JUST UPDATE WITH "YOU" AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. SUSE HAS PLACED JUST TODAY A KDELIBS PATCH FOR IT. aNOTHER WAY TO SOLVE IT(WITHOUT THE PATCH, WHICH DOES'T MAKE MUCH SENSE) IS TO DISABLE nscd: open yast > system > run level editor(not sure what's it's name in englesh--I use Spanish locales) and tern nscd off then you can log out and in kde sessions and konqueror will load imeges as well as he always has done. Bot the patch has been placed on line just today, so no need for this. BTW, today is Sunday, which means suse's boys work even on weekends. regards jorge

Wel, in my former message I was "triumphalist". Indeed, the patch solves the problem partially, but kdelibs's dns system still fails in some cases, so DISABLE nscd if you don't need it and note that you can live without it for sure. So: open yast > system > run level editor(not sure what's it's name in englesh--I use Spanish locales) and tern nscd off regards jorge
