[opensuse-kde] KDE 4.8 in Tumblweed
Hi all, I'm working to get the KDE 4.8 release into openSUSE:Tumbleweed, so all of your hard work can get out to more users. However, I've run into a little problem with the libqt4 package. Right now, it's an "aggregate" link to the KDE:Qt repo. When I link to it in openSUSE:Tumbleweed, I get the error: missing repositories: KDE:Qt/openSUSE_Tumbleweed_standard This is because you haven't added the Tumbleweed repo as a build target in KDE:Qt, which is fine, that's your choice. But, because of this, how do you suggest that I resolve the problem? Should I just link to the libqt4 project in the KDE:Qt/ repo? Oh wait, that's what I did the last time around for KDE in Tumbleweed, nevermind then. So, I'll leave this as an open question, is this the best way for me to handle libqt4 in Tumbleweed? Is there other packages that I should be linking to different repos other than KDE:Release:48? And are there packages that I should not be linking to for tumbleweed from this repo? I'm obviously not going to link to the ones that are not being built for openSUSE:12.1, but any other hints or tips would be appreciated. If you all want to see how it looks so far, it's building at the moment in the openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Testing repo: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=openSUSE%3ATumbleweed%3AT... thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Hi all,
I'm working to get the KDE 4.8 release into openSUSE:Tumbleweed, so all of your hard work can get out to more users. However, I've run into a little problem with the libqt4 package.

This is because you haven't added the Tumbleweed repo as a build target in KDE:Qt, which is fine, that's your choice.

Oh wait, that's what I did the last time around for KDE in Tumbleweed, nevermind then.
Nope, that didn't work, the version in KDE:Qt is 4.8.0 while KDE in 4.8 seems to want 4.7.2. Any hints anyone? greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I'm not sure what you mean. I have Release:48 installed, with qt 4.8.0, and qt 4.8.0 is shipped both in Release:48 and in KDE:Qt. I don't see qt 4.7.2 anywhere at all. 12.1 shipped with 4.7.4. Are you building for something older? Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I shouldn't be. Look at: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=openSUSE%3ATumbleweed%3AT... and see all of the packages looking for a different version of libqt. It looks like you've forgotten to include libqca2 into your project, so it pulls in the one from 12.1, which requires qt 4.7.4. I'd say you need to rebuild it as well, so you get a libqca2 built against qt 4.8.0 Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, I'll go include it. But how is this working in KDE:Release:48? That library is not in that repo from what I can tell. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Don't ask me how it works, but libqca2 is published in Release48. I don't see it in the build repository either, but it is included somehow. Hi Greg, Please see https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=libqt4&project=KDE%3ARelease%3A48 , there has _aggregate and libqca2 was in the list, so it will pull from KDE:Qt, therefore you can not saw that library in packages list of KR48 IIRC. Ok, then we are back to my original problem, where an _aggregate will not work here as there is no target repository for openSUSE:Tumbleweed. So, I'll dig out the packages in the aggregate later today and add them by hand and see what happens... thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
