I made the jump to kde 3.1 from 3.0.5 in suse 8.1 It went well except for the crashing of konqueror in superuser mode. Hans, If memory serves me correctly, I believe you need to remove the contents of any root folders in /tmp and then turn off previews in Konq the next time you start it up.
