Re: AW: [suse-kde] No preview for jpeg files!
Let me correct my previous e-mail for those who may access it from an
archiver. You should add /usr/lib/qt3/plugins in Qtconfig.

That's it - thanks!

You need to run qtconfig as root. It's not looking in the correct directory for the qt3 plugins to display image formats.
Add /usr/lib/qt/plugins to the list.
This is caused by the fact that Qt "follows" symlinks when a user clicks on them. I wish this could be disabled because it is extremely annoying. I have a bunch of folder links in my home directory but whenever I click them in Konqueror, I have to remember to push Back instead of Up :-(
I don't know if one can disable this when compiling Qt from source.

wrote: Hi,
I am using KDE 3.0.3 on SuSE 7.3.
Preview of gif files works fine in konqueror but not for jpeg. However libjpg is installed and the image will be displayed when I click on it. I also can open jpeg's with Kuickshow.
But I can't open a jpeg image with Kpaint or Kview - I assume it relates to the same problem why there's no preview in konqueror.
Thanks for any help.
