If you didnt download the software for winblows you can take the camera back.
GS: No I did not....it came with the web camera. I will keep it but I wanted to be able to run it in Linux and not have to use winblows every time I want to chat with my friends and use the web cam.
BTW if you want to use a good camera and still have digital. www.photoworks.com
I have 2 already but none of'em works with Linux....very unfortunate. Thanks. G

I did check it out but my specific Camera was not on the list, there was a driver still in testing for logitech but different camera. Yast2 showed the app on the CD set but said something about it being a command line app. I need something like digicam unfortunately it doesn't recognize my camera.
Thanks for your tip. G.

Photoworks is normal film which they will digitize, process, make index print and return with a replacement film. All you need is a normal camera. They dropped their version of jpeg for true jpeg and all you do is load the CD. CWSIV On Fri, 2004-03-05 at 09:59, George Stoianov wrote:

photoworks will help me use anyone of my camera's on
linux?? Maybe I am not getting something here please

Thanks.

Get a digital card reader. Works for all camera's. Treat as a removable disk drive. And doesn't drain your camera batteries. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # us1244711
Thanks the advice Patrick. Actually my two was of
transfering information to my laptop are through USB
(web camera) and USB/DVD-R/DVD-RAM video camera. It is
good to know though that if I had a still camera I
could us a card reader and have it recognised as
another loadable disk device.
Thank you

photoworks is just an alternative to the digital. www.gphoto.org is the org behind bypassing the winbloat downloads for the cameras. CWSIV On Sat, 2004-03-06 at 12:36, George Stoianov wrote:
