Issue? Sometimes the openSUSE branding isn't ready and you have to use the upstream branding
But why it happens all the time ? Problem: kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 requires kdelibs4-branding = 4.10, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: kdelibs4-branding- upstream-4.10.0-546.1.i586[kde49] kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.3.noarch[kde49] kdelibs4-branding- basedonopensuse-12.2-3.3.1.i586[repo-oss] kdelibs4-branding- basedonopensuse-12.2-3.7.1.i586[repo-update] Solution 1: downgrade of kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.4.noarch to kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.3.noarch Solution 2: do not install kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 Solution 3: break kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies So, better wait or.. ?? Everything is fine in the Repo.
But why it happens all the time ?
KR410 is an excellent shape
Problem: kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 requires kdelibs4-branding = 4.10, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: kdelibs4-branding- upstream-4.10.0-546.1.i586[kde49] kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.3.noarch[kde49] kdelibs4-branding- basedonopensuse-12.2-3.3.1.i586[repo-oss] kdelibs4-branding- basedonopensuse-12.2-3.7.1.i586[repo-update] Solution 1: downgrade of kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.4.noarch to kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE-12.2-11.18.3.noarch Solution 2: do not install kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 Solution 3: break kdelibs4-4.10.0-546.1.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies
As that the KDE:Release:410 repository is a brand new one, it could be that some of the packages could have a lower number than the one already installed. This is what happens here, The package that provides the correct branding has a lower release number than the package installed. If you select option 1 here, you would have a good installation. It is just that zypper will not automatically downgrade a package unless told too. Of course this situation will resolve itself with the next rebuilds, as that then the release number will be increased. It's only because the branding packages do not have the KDE version number and release numbers do not always grow in build service. In this case: take the downgrade path and everything is well. This just doesn't matter. Simply use the package switcher on 410 repo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I think it usually happens because people don't use the 'correct' update method for KR4x ('zypper dup --from <repo>') -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

I don't think so Martin I've seen it and it usually presents itself at a major upgrade and where some of the openSUSE branding is actually missing for the upgrade. I didn't experience any issue this time though. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
