[opensuse-kde] KSecretService
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but I can't find any package for ksecretservice in the unstable 4.8 betas, or in the release candidate that is currently building. According to the kde.org release announcement it should be there Are we packaging it? Is it part of some other package, in some way? See this: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=ksecretservice&project=home%3Arwooninck%3AUNSTABLE_KDE4 I branched it and try to build it for 12.1 and factory now, if it builds correctly, should I submit it to the KDE unstable project? --kdl -- Kim Leyendecker, openSUSE Wiki Team GPG Key: 664265369547B825 | leyendecker@opensuse.org http://www.opensuse.org - Linux for open minds -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Yeah, my build failed anyway. Maybe we should wait until we got our complete KDE team back from holiday. -- Kim Leyendecker, openSUSE Wiki Team GPG Key: 664265369547B825 | leyendecker@opensuse.org http://www.opensuse.org - Linux for open minds -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Well, currently the status around ksecretservice is not really that know, but see below statement : --- Loading/Using Ksecretservice is supposed to happen with a plugin, yes. that has not yet been implemented. what is in the branch right now is code that can be built if ksecretservice is available. which means right now to make it work one needs to build kdelibs, ksecreteservice, then kdelibs again. --- There is a RC1 tarball available for ksecrets, but I wonder what people really want to do with it. It seems that the indicated plugin method will be implemented in KDE 4.9. For openSUSE it would be nearly impossible to utilize the indicated buildmethod to build first kdelibs, then ksecretservice and then to build kdelibs again but then with ksecretservice as a buildrequire. No other application is utilizing ksecretservice yet and also the necessary patches to activate ksecretservice through the systemsettings (kwallet, etc) are missing from kdeutils. If people really want to have this tarball and re-compile kdelibs themselves, then I am more than happy to provide it, but my recommendation would be to forget about ksecretservice at this moment and it will come with KDE 4.9 Regards Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
