You can set up a CalDAV resource in Akonadi. That is what I do. There are instructions on the google calendar help page about using CalDAV, and setting it up in Akonadi is pretty straightforward.

Oh no, my version of KDE 4.6.4 and Kontact does not allow to add CalDAV ressources.... I guess you use a new version of KDE / Akonadi?
