KDE 3.1.1 via Konstruct
Well, I've run into my first issue with compiling KDE 3.1.1 with Konstruct. Nothing will compile and I keep getting the error that kdelibs are not installed. Well, I just recompiled the kdelibs-3.1.1 tarball and made sure everything was in the right place. The configure file in kopete 0.6.1a still isn't happy. I wouldn't even be compiling kopete if the icq.plugin wasn't shitting on itself everytime it tries to connect. It's not an ICQ problem because Licq connects just fine and so did kopete before the upgrade. It really is starting to piss me off that with the uber cool build system that SuSE has they can't make 3.1.1 pkgs for 8.0. I know that 8.2 is just around the corner (6 weeks or so) but that doesn't mean much. I think 8.0 and 8.1 should both be supported. I found nothing in the 3.1.1 tarballs that wouldn't work with 8.0 so there are not any excuses that "this or that" won't work. That's a load crap...but my lack of experience in putting things in the right place has made it impossible for me to compile things against this new version. /end rant Yours truly in extreme disgust and apathy. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. After seeing THIS:
kdebase3-3.0.4-46.src.rpm
I would like to withdraw my suggestion below.... Hey SuSE packagers (Adrian): Need some more sleep? ;) Daniel Am Montag, 24. März 2003 08:53 schrieb Daniel Eckl:

I already spent 12 hours screwing with compiling all of KDE. I'm not gonna do it again. I'll just deal with 8.0/3.1 until 8.2 comes out. By then I'll have backed up everything onto CD and I can't screw with 8.2 for a bit..unlike 8.1 which had an AMD southbridge bug which caused me to revert to 8.0 and once the bug was fixed ..I just didn't wanna go though upgrading again. Thanks for the suggestion though. :) * Daniel Eckl (daniel.eckl@gmx.de) [030323 23:54]: ->ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.1.1/SuSE/src/ -> ->rpm --rebuild -> ->Greets, ->Daniel -> ->Am Montag, 24.
