Hello, two days ago I upgraded to SuSE 9.1 (from 9.0) and encountered a problem with fonts. I do not use antialiasing. In KDE I can't find any usable font in any font dialog window. The most problem is with Konsole, its font are ungly in smaller sizes. I'm missing my old "Courier new" font, currently in the choice window are about 20 kind of font but EVERY of them is ugly and most of them are similar. I installed every font package from SuSE installation media. The interesting thing is, that when I run mozilla than its fonts are pretty (windows true type) but I can't reach this in any KDE's application :-( Would anyone help me? I searched internet and tried everything but nothing helped. Thanks and regards, Miro Kubiczek

Running the control panel - system administration - font installer as admin. Exit and restart the x session. Check your fonts are anit-aliased in control panel - appearance and themes - fonts. Check too that no fonts are excluded when you click on the configure. Hope that helps, Berni

Thanks for help, I have tried it. Nevertheless, after clicking on the Font Installer button I got an error message: -------------------- There was an error loading the module. Details: The diagnostics is: Library files for "libkcm_fontinst.la" not found in paths Possible reasons: o An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module o You have old third party modules lying around. Check these points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message. If this fails, consider contacting your distributor or packager. -------------------- Does anyone know what shall I do? Or how can I fix this problem?
