[opensuse-kde] Fwd: [Kde-pim] Baloo indexer in Beta 3
Hmmm, should we wait for the next testing release or is it worth
trying to get this in the current packages?

Hi,
After upgrading from Beta 2 to Beta 3, the baloo indexer has spend about 24 hours indexing my mail. That wasn't an issue in Beta 2... How can I find out what in $DEITY's name it is doing?
What I've learned is that there was a bug with maildir handling, which got just solved after the beta3 tagging. I did install the current git snaphost and here it works pretty well. Indexing from scratch my ~83k mails took just half an hour or so. See the following chat I had: [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:38:59] <cmollekopf> mkoller: If you're not on a recent git snapshot maildir doesn't work yet. [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:39:20] <mkoller> I'm on 4.12.95 - maildir should work here AFAIK [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:39:26] <cmollekopf> because the cache is constantly expired, it looked to baloo as if the items were added and removed all the time. [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:39:47] <mkoller> I know that. I think I was the one who reported the problem ... [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:42:35] <mkoller> yes, that was bug #332196 [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:42:36] <bugbot> KDE bug 332196 in Baloo (General) "baloo does not index all mails" [Normal,Resolved: fixed] http://bugs.kde.org/332196 [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:43:15] <tsdgeos> mkoller: i was told you need akonadi 1.1.90 too [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:43:26] <cmollekopf> indeed [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:43:34] <cmollekopf> commit 88fa239 [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:43:52] <cmollekopf> and without c8b910d your items will be constantly reindexed [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:43:56] <cmollekopf> which is from yesterday [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:44:31] <mkoller> hmmm I installed the openSuse packages today. akonadi rpm says Version : 4.12.95 Release : 452.1 [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:44:46] <cmollekopf> and with c8b910d you'll need 15ae81f from kdepimlibs [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:45:00] <cmollekopf> that doesn't even make sense -.- [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:45:28] <cmollekopf> mkoller: Without the patches from yesterday you can forget maildir with baloo. [Friday 21 March 2014] [17:45:39] <cmollekopf> The good news is, since today it works for me nicely -- Best regards/Schöne Grüße Martin A: Because it breaks the logical sequence of discussion Q: Why is top posting bad?
