[opensuse-kde] KDE doesn't lock my screen
Hi everyone, As mentioned in the subject, KDE doesn't lock my screen. Right now I'm running 4.8.1 from KR48 but it also happened with the default kde packages from the 12.1 OSS repo. Since I haven't seen any complaints about this I assume it works for everyone else, so my question is: how do I fix it? This is important since privacy matters to me, so I'd appreciate any help that I can get. Hi Ricardo, Have you confirmed that you have locking enabled after a certain period of time? See: System Settings > Display and Monitor > Screen Saver. Near the bottom of the `Screen Saver Settings' pane, you'll see `Require password after: ____' Ensure you've checked this option and have set the number of seconds. That is not necessary. I have autolock off but I can still lock on demand. Chris -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

That's right .. it wasn't clear to me whether the OP was trying to lock on demand or was waiting for the screen to auto-lock. Howdy, Kevin Krammer gave me the following solution many years back to lock via the CLI: qdbus org.kde.krunner /ScreenSaver Lock The OP can try from a terminal session to see what's the result of the above. That's not a lot of information. It doesn't lock my screen either but I have it that way intentionally.

"Fix it?" It isn't broken afaics. Have you configured it to lock?

Yes, privacy does matter. <rt-click> on a blank area of the desktop and select "Lock Screen" or open "Configure Desktop" goto "Display and Monitor" open "Screen Saver" configure as desired -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
