[opensuse-kde] Preventing autostart of prgs in kicker
Hi all. Where are the to be started programs in the system-tray of kicker konfigured? It's not in the .kde/Autostart directory. I reckon this is about session-management. But how do i prevent a certain prg from appearing on each kde login (im my case: the pesky knetworkmanager)? You can add a .desktop file to that directory and have that application started automatically.

Yes - it is about session management and those session files are located in ~/.kde/share/config/session/ However, when talking about knetworkmanager, I think the case is different - you have chosen to use Network Manager to control network settings (not the "traditional" way). And when Network Manager is running, knetworkmanager (a front end to this) is started automatically. I am not 100% sure about this, but I remember switching to NM for a test and KNM was there too... If you don't need the NM functionality (i.e. you are not on a laptop, moving around between different network configurations), you should switch back to the traditional way of managing interfaces (ifup, ifdown and family). To do this, go to YaST -> Network Devices -> Network Cards and on the first screen choose the other control method - Traditional. KDE can be set to exclude some applications from session: Control Center -> KDE Components -> Session Manager (bottom). I am not sure if this will have any effect on KNM, though... Kcontrol > kde components > session management There you can define programs to be excluded from sessions. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
