kdm exit problem with SuSE 9.3
Sometimes while exiting a session the kdm doesn't come back but I get the console text login. I have to restart the X11 system afterwards. /var/log/messages : Apr 28 09:07:41 autoyast kdm[6447]: Unknown session exit code 0 (sig 6) from manager process It's not consistant, about 10% of all logouts. I use SuSE 9.3 with the NVIDIA drivers fetched by online update. Any tip ? Installing the latest NVIDIA drivers by hand isn't a good option as I have to do it for 30+ computers each kernel update. You should consider writing a small update script. The NVidia-driver installation can be run completely automatically. This is the way I do it eg when a new NVidia driver is out or a kernel security update has to be installed and as a consequence the NV driver has to be reinstalled. So investing work in this project might be helpful for the future and possibly for your current problem as well (just check it on one computer).
