[opensuse-kde] X-SuSE-translate question
Hi all, I stumbled over the problem that on a german openSuse 10.3 setup, the poupmenu on any directory view to create a new folder still mentions the _english_ name "Folder" whereby everywhere else (konqueror menus, properties, etc.) the german translation "Ordner" is used. Checking for the reason, I found inside the "inode/directory.desktop" file that most of the translations are commented with #SUSE-Overwrite Comment and the file also contains the line X-SuSE-translate=true My question: what is the reason for removing translations ? -- Best regards/Schöne Grüße Martin () ascii ribbon campaign - against html mail /\ - against microsoft attachments --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

My question: what is the reason for removing translations ?
We remove them if the openSUSE translator thinks Folder is better. Even though in this case, it looks like a simple bug: #: /opt/kde3/share/mimelnk/inode/directory.desktop msgctxt "Comment(directory.desktop)" msgid "Folder" msgstr "Ordner" Greetings, Stephan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Having said that - is your "openSUSE 10.3" setup by chance mixed with some build service repo? Then this is because the po files in the build service do not match those in 10.3 Greetings, Stephan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Can this be fixed in the build service files then ? -- Best regards/Schöne Grüße Martin () ascii ribbon campaign - against html mail /\ - against microsoft attachments --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Not easily, no. As we backport Factory packages, we need Factory's files, but those are in a different loop. It would be possible though to use 10.3's files with Factory's macros - if you're volunteering to prepare the packages.
