SUSE 10.0 X86-64 - KDE 3.5 Kicker Crash
Hi list, I upgraded KDE on the subject install last night to 3.5. Since then, frequently when I logout of my user session or reboot, I get the following error; Kicker has crashed with a signal 11 - SIGSSEGV. I have renamed ~/.kde and restarted KDE, this was no help. I did not see anything meaningful in the system log. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can isolate this? It's not a huge deal as it does not seem to impact KDE whatsoever, but I'd like to fix it if possible. I do have a backtrace report I can post if anyone might be able to decipher one of those. Have a good one. Thanks in advance, Harryc --

Kicker has crashed with a signal 11 - SIGSSEGV. If you have some "cosmetics" to your kicker, try to remove them. There is a known problem with transparency because x.org doesn't support it natively.

Cheers,
This looks like a firmly imbedded bug in KDE to me. I tried Kubuntu Breezy (KDE 3.4) briefly and got that error every time I logged out. I get it sometimes in SUSE 10. It's not happened for a few days, but that might be because I usually log off and shut doen. I think it also happened in Fedora Core beta 1 which I think is KDE 3.4. Note KDE 3.4 in FC3 is fine; it might be connected with some build options.
