Ist da was falsch konfiguriert? Kann ich das irgendwie wiederabstellen? Gruß Mario
Hi all, I have a problem with the kde login screen. It takes very long from the xserver start until the login screen appears, approx. 1-2 minutes. With strace I could see that kde_greet opens all font files I have on my system. Why does it do this? Do I have something misconfigured? Can I do something about it? I have suse 8.1 and kde 3.2 (just updated, but the problem was there before with 3.1). Regards Mario

You might try running 'fc-cache -f -v' as root. HTH, -- Cheers, Trey --- Do not seek death; death will find you. Thanks, that helped a lot. But I still have a problem with fonts since upgrading KDE to 3.2. Certain (font related) actions make the xserver crash, e.g. calling xfd: xfd -fn "-urw-nimbus sans l-bold-i-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-15" Another crash point is when accessing the kdm config page in kcontrol. Does anyone have an idea what that could be? Regards Mario
