Try to guess it you disable nepomuk, or some informations panel in dolphin. Did you suffer also the same hang if you use the shift+delete ( remove without going to trash ) ? -- Bruno Friedmann bruno@ioda-net.ch Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member User www.ioda.net/r/osu Blog www.ioda.net/r/blog fsfe fellowship www.fsfe.org (bruno.friedmann (at) fsfe.org ) tigerfoot on irc GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
Are you using XFS as file system? If yes, I have the same problem. No idea what's causing it. My only workaround is to move the files to the trash first and then empty it via the Plasma applet. It still takes ages, but at least no other windows are affected then. Markus On Monday 16 August 2010 19:44:57 Roman Bysh wrote:

Firstly, I prefer not bypassing, just in case I find that I need the file back again. However, I will give it a try.
And, my fs is ext4. Would it matter what file system I assign for the /home partition? I was considering using btrfs for my / partition and ext4 for the rest. -- Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Probably the dolphin dbus hang last mentioned in Sven's blog: http://kdeatopensuse.wordpress.com/2010/08/15/kde-week-26-32/ Unfortunately Lubos' fixed dbus is not building for 11.3 atm. It lives in home:llunak:mix. If I get time I will make a branch that builds otherwise you can wait for Lubos to fix it.
