There is a saying in german "Was lange währt, wird endlich gut." Mathias used only the first part of it. It's hard to translate and also hard to understand for non native german speakers, because it comes from old german grammar. the german verb "währen" means to take a long time. I cannot translate the whole thing directly, but it means that a thing has taken a long time and now it's finally here and this fact is good.

Well, this -en and -de thing is not used always right on the SuSE lists. If there is a language abbreviation, then it's clear. But if there is no such abbreviation I think nobody should say "Here is no -en, so I want to speak german here at all cost and nobody has to complain". If you post to any list, you first have to read the list a little time to see, if the problem is discussed before and so on. And so one will see the used language and has to respect this fact. Daniel

ich bin der meinung das mathias das nicht so gemeint hat wie Du es hier beschreibst. was die englisch sprechenden listenmitglieder von deinem text halten sollen weis ich nicht. außerdem hat er nicht gesagt das er um jeden preis deutsch schreiben will. ich habe dies zumindest nirgends gelesen.

And so one will see the used language and has to respect this fact. ich habe auch erst einmal die liste gelesen und auch die ein oder andere frage zu kde. doch leider verzichten die deutschsprechenden mitglider darauf ihren landsmännern auf deutsch zu helfen. das finde ich schade, denn wie schon erwähnt fehlt hier jegliche sprachzuordnung, und die deutschen können wohl auf eine deutsche frage auch deutsch antwort erwarten, zumal genug deutsche hier vertreten sind. ich versuche ja auch englisch sprechenden auf englisch zu helfen.......
nur soviel dazu, fand die mail nicht sehr fair. will dir nicht zu nahe treten, doch aber meine meinung los werden. gruß marcel***

Perhaps the best approach would be then to answer those messages in English and German... Rather clumsy perhaps... For me it takes about 10 times longer to write this answer. But isn't there a translate service on the web? See Konqueror -> Menubar -> Tools -> Translate web page ... Hmmm clumsy too. Viellecht könnte man am besten die Deutsch sprachige Emails auf English und Deutsch beantworten... Bißchen umslachtig vielleicht... Für mich dauert es ungefähr das 10-fache um das Antwort zu schreiben. Aber gibt es nicht eine Umsätzservice auf das Web? Sehe Konqueror -> Menubar -> Tools -> Translate web page ... Hmmm auch umslachtig. LOL - my German is so rusty! Forgot the better part of the syntax rules I learned 25 years ago. That's why I like to stay with English.
