[opensuse-kde] ksuseinstall patch in amarok
Reviewing the latest amarok submission to Factory, I noticed in SR#131411 the following change: +- Remove ksuseinstall patch entirely the patch has this description: -# PATCH-FEATURE-OPENSUSE ksuseinstall.diff llunak@novell.com -- Support for on-demand codecs install using ksuseinstall This is a removal of a feature that I remember was quite important for openSUSE in the past. Is the KDE team really going to remove this and want this in? Note: I'm sanity checking, it's your call to decide but I wanted you to discuss the change to know whether to accept or reject it, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, this is expected. The codecs handling no longer happens in Amarok but is done directly in Phonon. See https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/multimedia/amarok/repository/rev... for the details. Christophe

thanks for the info. That's the kind of info which might be worth adding to a changes entry.
