[opensuse-kde] KDE4 RC1....

M9, KDE4 isn't released by opensuse-kde, we're only packaging it. You want to go to @kde.org if you're not happy with it. Not happy? I am very happy, using it right now.. ;-) With no nonsens on the desktop, everything is unbelievably fast! And the apps called by konsole work as a charm ;-) And when you minimize the apps, you get a nice 'clean' white background...and alt-tab work, so np ;-) This is the most minimal desktop, i ever used ;-) Only one must know the 'k' names from the apps to use... ;-) - -- Have a nice day, M9. It *is* Beta4 for the desktop The release candidate status is only for the development platform, i.e. the kdelibs behind-the-scenes stuff You don't have to start the full desktop to test that, you can just run the applications from your KDE3 desktop -- Madness takes its toll --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

aha, that explains a lot...

I do not agree with that, the apps perform different apart from their environment. Only KPat, which i use since the beginning. Since the graphics are better, it much more fun to use..

That is good to hear.. I haven't installed over my Beta 3 and didn't read the announcement so I wasn't quite sure how they released.. Thanks for clearing it up a bit. These smileys are not showing in my thunderbird, just like in irc windows.. The real smiley's annoy me, better not use them anymore than.. They should this version not have called RC, because it is not... What is strange though, i have a bug in the moving images performance in 10.3: images stop-move-stop-move, very anoying. Filed a bug about it. This is in all flsh, video, kaffeine, screensaver, and even the bouncing cursor... In KDE4, the images are amazingly sharp, and move very smooth, just the way they ought to, and the way i am used to. So this might be a KDE3 bug, instead of 10.3 after all.. - -- Have a nice day, M9. Try adding the Application Launcher plasmoid. Do you by the way know how to call it in konsole? 'cause application launcher, or plasmoid, are not recognised.. - -- Have a nice day, M9. Now, is the only time that exists. You won't find it in konsole, because it is not a separate app, a plasmoid is a plugin for the (Plasma) desktop + panel. Right click on the desktop or click Add Applet in the top right hand corner and add it that way. I would right click on the desktop, if the right mouse menu would show...(as told in previous mail.) - -- Have a nice day, M9. Now, is the only time that exists.
