Er... that was the whole point of the question... As you look at your KMail window, you see the message summaries displayed under a row of headings: "From" "Subject" "Date"... and some symbols that show whether the particular message has been read (open or closed envelope icon) and a little green "flag" icon to symbolize "this is more important than your average e-mail". He wants to sort all his messages and filter them according to whether that symbol is on or off. Me too. :-) /kevin

You can filter on any header, so just look for a specific header that you want to fitler on. BTW, I am not sure what you mean by "Important".
