[opensuse-kde] Only qeustion about bug 299681 - Kaffeine crashes
I´d like to ask. Can i expect solution when GM will be released? It´s been happening since Beta1 and it still isn´t solved until now. Thanks Regards, Rasto --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

We don't see much fixes from outside. So I wouldn't rely on it. Kaffeine is not the best player available. If you have the Guru repo available switch to e.g. kmplayer and remove kaffeine completely. Kmplayer works far better as a plug-in for konqueror than kaffeine and supports xine as well as MPlayer. I think for audio there are better players too, like amarok. Installing KMplayer is sufficient - it'll be used for streaming stuff in konq even if Kaffeine is still there. Kaffeine is very nice for plenty things - no need to remove it - unless you're one of those "one app per job"-fanatics or you need a few extra mb of hd-space ;-) For example I think Kaffeine is nicer for playing DVDs than KMplayer. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

+1 at least in my current configuration. -- Regards, Rajko. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Guys, i don´t want to argue which one player is the best.Maybe it isn´t.It´s up to you which one player you use.But it sufficient for my requirements anf i´m satisfied with Kaffeine.

But this isn´t solution.Solution is to fix bugs. I want to help testing openSUSE and i wo´nt be satisfied if openSUSE will be released with bugs. :( Regards, Rasto

Hey, kaffeine can do quite some stuff what (k)mplayer is not able to do, like DVD menus or stream storing.
I think for audio there are better players too, like amarok.

What do you mean by DVD menus? The normal menus you get on your TV when watching a DVD, kmplayer can do that too. It also has a record button. I never used it though, but it seems it can save streams. Kaffeine made konqueror crash when used as plug-in and exiting konqueror for more than a year and the plug-in is not scriptable. It is not reproducible for me, but I forgot to put it into NEEDINFO state. did that now.
