SuSE 9.2 - Kopete can't log in to MSN
Since a couple of days ago, Kopete could no longer log in to the MSN instant messaging network. According to this message, the problem has been fixed: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/linux.debian.devel.release/browse_thread... Indeed there's a thread on the suse-linux-e list about fixing this by compiling the SVN version of Kopete, but this will only work in KDE 3.4, which I haven't installed. Is there an updated RPM available for SuSE 9.2 w/KDE 3.3, or any other method to get this to work? -- Lars Haugseth

There is an obvious method, which is to check out the 3.3 sources and the 3.4 patch that re-enables MSN, and backport it, and then rebuild the 3.3 RPM. I don't know how much work is involved though You could also try to simply run the 3.4 version of kopete. The whole 3.x series of KDE should be binary compatible, so it's worth a try

Hello, Yes, it was fixed too yesterday for the 3.3 BRANCH, you can get kdenetwork-415952.tar.bz2 at ftp://ftp.kde.com and compile it. Michel.

In FC3 Kopete 0.10 doesn't login either. Keeps coming with "Wrong password". (KDE 3.4/Kopete 0.10) -- Kind Regards, Peter M. Actually I haven't. I'm recompiling from svn at the moment. Statement is that is should be fixed then... We'll see, but thanks for the pointer. That's the next try on the list if this fails.. :) -- Kind Regards, Peter M. Groen __________________________________________________________________________ "Ironic isn't it? Hello, I just complied the last version of kdenetwork-415952.tar.bz2 from ftp.kde.org and it works fine with MSN and ICQ on SuSE 9.3. Michel.
